Day 2: Arusha – Lake Eyasi

After breakfast departure to Lake Eyasi. Arrival at the tented camp by lunch time.
Lake Eyasi is a seasonal shallow soda lake on the floor of the Great Rift Valley and the base of the Serengeti Plateau. Though not really a game destination, Lake Eyasi, is a wild, scenically stunning area where you can get a real insight into the way of life of some of Tanzania’s fascinating tribes, most notably the Wahadzabe and Datoga peoples. In the afternoon meet the Datoga tribe, a pastoral group like the Maasai. Back at the camp in the late afternoon to enjoy a beautiful sunset on the lovely deck.

Day 3: Lake Eyasi – Serengeti National Park

Breakfast at the camp and discover a typical Hadzabe Village: spend the morning with the Hadzabe men learning their ways of hunting and gathering (one of the last hunter-gatherer tribes in Africa) and learning about the women and children’s way of life. After your picnic lunch and a last activity departure to the Serengeti National Park. This road is different comparing to the Ngorongoro landscape, it’s arid and wild, dotted with suggestive Masaai Villages. Access the Serengeti from Naabi Hill Gate; not far from here you will stop close to a group of Kopjes, it is possible to climb on top of them and enjoy the incredible landscape on the Serengeti plains.
The Serengeti Kopjes are outcrops of granite that stick out like rocky islands in a sea of grass. They were formed when the soft volcanic rock and ash that covers Serengeti were eroded away to expose the extremely old metamorphic rock below. Aside from providing a scenic contrast to the surrounding grasslands, kopjes provide habitat for many creatures because of the presence of a variety of plants, caves for dwelling, water, and a vantage point for Serengeti’s many predators.
Arrival at the camp, accommodation and enjoy a bit of relax before dinner inside the tented restaurant.

After breakfast at the camp departure with lunch box for Ngorogoro Crater tour. At the “Crater View Point” (2.216m of altitude) you can admire the most amazing and spectacular view and if the weather is clear you will enjoy a stunning view of the vast ‘caldera’. This area is populated by mammals (wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, antelopes, hippos, elephants and a small number of black rhinos) and predators like lions, easy to spot on dry season, leopards and cheetahs not as easy to see.

Day 6: Ngorongoro Conservation Area – Tarangire National Park

Breakfast at the lodge, next destination Tarangire National Park, the most loved park by elephants.
The Tarangire National Park covers an area of 2.600 square kilometres and is crossed by the Tarangire River. The only source of water for wild animals during dry season, the Tarangire River creates a most unique landscape: hillsides dotted with a vast numbers of Baobab trees, dense bushes and high grasses. During the dry season thousands of animals such as elephants, kudu, lions, cheetahs and leopards migrate to the National Park to find water, making the dry season the best moment to visit the park.
