Day 1-2: Okavango Delta

Upon arrival at Maun Airport you will be met by our representative who will accompany you to your transfer by air to Moremi Crossing, where a representative from the lodge will be waiting to welcome you to your first accommodation in Botswana.
Moremi Crossing is built on a palm fringed island surrounded by the Moremi’s game-rich seasonal floodplains and overlooking Chief’s Island; it is a new style safari camp combining luxury with simplicity. This is a 100% eco-friendly development featuring the latest in solar and waste disposal technology. Accommodation consists of 16 en suite and spacious tents on raised decks, each with their own veranda, with a Family Tent and a Honeymoon Tent.
The Okavango is an immense river that never meets the sea; instead, its crystal clear waters spread across the Kalahari Desert, creating Africa’s largest wetland wonder. The Delta is an abundant oasis amid the vast plains and pans of the desert that covers most of Southern Africa, its waterways are a mesh of meandering and intercepting channels, creating a haven for Africa ’s most celebrated wildlife. Lying in the middle of the largest expanse of sand on earth the Okavango Delta is one of Africa’s most amazing, sensitive and complex environments supporting a spectacle of wilderness and wildlife. Unique as one of the world’s few inland deltas, the placid waters and lush indigenous forests offer a safe haven for innumerable bird and wildlife species. Activities at the camp include mekoro safaris, boat cruises, fishing and walking safaris in Chief’s Island.

The hotel has a tours desk where you can book all the activities. Cruise down the river and follow the route that ancient explorers took, on the luxurious Ra-Ikane, one of her kind in Victoria Falls, a small luxury cruise boat that is out-fitted to suggest, in exquisite detail, an ambiance of a bygone era. Sip chilled white wine, or Gin & Tonics whilst nibbling on canapes, as well as the sumptuous high tea, whilst you glide up to elephants feeding on the shoreline.
Known locally as ‘The Smoke that Thunders’ this spectacle is accessible from both Zambia and Zimbabwe and it is an ideal place to combine a game viewing and water sports. There is excellent fishing, a terrifying bungee jump and arguably the best commercial white water rafting in the world.
