Day 1 – 2: Nankoma Island

Upon arrival at Lilongwe International Airport, you will meet your guide; after greetings you will be transferred to Blue Zebra in Nankoma Island for a night.
The Lodge offers 8 exclusive tented en suite chalets each overlooking the lake with some of crystal clear waters. The chalets are set in an unspoiled environment and guests are surrounded by nature and luxury. Guests are free to chill at the infinity pool, Kayak around the islands or enjoy a game of volleyball as part of the board package. The lodge also offers free use of snorkelling equipment to view the unique colourful fish that inhabit every inch of the coastline

Day 3 – 5: Satemwa Tea Estates

After breakfast, you will have a boat transfer from Blue Zebra Lodge to Senga Bay – Salima. Upon arrival at Senga Bay – Salima your guide will pick you up and drive towards Huntingdon House in Thyolo.
Arguably the most scenically beautiful region of Malawi, the Thyolo district forms the heart of Malawi’s tea producing region with rolling hills immaculately cultivated, emerald green plantations and some of the oldest estates in the country. Huntingdon House was built in the 1920’s and the estate has been in the Cathcart Kay family for generations, with members of the family still running the tea and coffee production of the estate. The grand old colonial style house is surrounded by magnificent gardens and beautiful old trees.
You can enjoy your stay simply relaxing or choosing among a good variety of activities.
You can mountain bike in the area, you can select the trail and length of time you wish to be out, while the lodge will provide the bikes, helmets, water bottles and plenty of advice about routes and areas to explore. They have eight bikes available at any one time so, if you are feeling fit and adventurous.
With over 105 miles of dirt roads and hundreds more paths and tracks, Satemwa is a fantastic and diverse place to explore on foot. Take a leisurely stroll to one of the streams, meander through the coffee fields or wander through Thyolo Mountain’s forests to enjoy breath-taking views over the estate and surrounding areas
A tea testing is one of the not-to-be-missed experiences on a tea growing estate. Your guide will explain the full process from planting through to harvesting and production whilst titillating your taste buds with various teas, including ‘white’ and ‘green’ teas and other Satemwa specialties. See if you can taste the difference!
Though Satemwa is primarily a tea growing estate, they have grown coffee since the ‘70s. They offer guided walk through Satemwa’s coffee fields which are wild, open and set in spectacular scenery.

Day 6 – 7: Majete Wildlife Reserve

After breakfast it is time to head to Majete Wildlife Reserve. You will be accommodated at the stunning Mkulumadzi Lodge for the next two nights. Mkulumadzi Lodge is surrounded by 7,000 hectares of private concession; it enjoys an idyllic location at the confluence of two rivers shaded by giant leadwood trees. It is the perfect combination of splendid isolation and first-class facilities.
Majete is an interesting reserve in the Shire Valley which it has been intensively protected and re-stocked with game. Majete Ltd is the local company that has been designated by African Parks LTD to manage the Reserve. In 2003 African Parks Ltd and the Government of Malawi signed an agreement allowing African Parks Ltd to take over the rehabilitation, management and development of the Majete Wildlife Reserve for 25 years; after which time, the reserve will be returned to the Malawi government. This agreement was made in order to stimulate the conservation of biodiversity and the proper utilization of natural resources within the country. Today the park hosts the Big 5: lions, leopards, black rhinos, elephants and buffaloes. The reserve is teeming with many other species as well including antelope, zebra, Lichestein’s heartebeest and eland. There is only one lodge inside the park, the Mkulumadzi Lodge. This is situated in a beautiful spot with incredible an incredible view and offers many activities such as game drive, boating and walking safaris with expert guides.

Day 8 – 9: Liwonde National Park

After breakfast get ready to drive to your next destination; the wonderful Mvuu lodge in the Liwonde National Park. Your accommodation will be at luxury Mvuu Lodge, overlooking the Shire River. With a profusion of hippos (Mvuu means hippo), crocodile and amazing birdlife you can enjoy you time sitting watching the wildlife by the river, as well as joining any of the many activities which include: game viewing, river cruises, nature walks, bird watching, star gazing and more.
The camp is of top quality with very classy luxury safari tents overlooking the lagoon, the food is exceptional and the package includes sunset river cruises and early morning game drives

Day 10 – 11: Cape Maclear

After breakfast, prepare to leave Mvuu lodge. Your guide will pick you and drive towards Cape Maclear and turn on the way to the beautiful Pumulani Lodge.
Pumulani is an exclusive beach lodge within Lake Malawi National Park. The lodge has ten individually-designed villas spread out along a lush hillside overlooking the lake. Each villa boasts a large bedroom, a spacious living area and a private deck with lake view. Guests can relax on the sandy beach or at our stylish infinity pool. For those seeking activity, there is water-skiing, sailing, diving, wakeboarding, kayaking, snorkelling, fishing and bird watching. At sunset we offer scenic cruises on our traditional wooden dhow. It’s the perfect way to experience the beauty of Lake Malawi.

Day 12: Departure

After breakfast your guide will drive you straight from Cape Maclear to Lilongwe International Airport for your flight back home.
