Day 1 – 2: Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve

Welcome to Malawi! Upon arrival at the Lilongwe International Airport, you will be welcomed by your guide. After greeting we will start driving to Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve, your accommodation for the first two nights will be at Tongole Wilderness Lodge. The Lodge is the only high end lodge in the Nkhotakota Reserve with great views over the beautiful Bua River; it provides a truly exceptional experience of this pristine region. The luxurious open plain suites offer the perfect retreat in which to relax after an exciting day of exploration and the dining experience is often rated as the best in the Country. Activities include game drive, bush walks, canoeing and cultural experiences to meet the local communities.

Day 3 – 4: Nyika National Park

After breakfast you will fly from Nkhotakota Wildlife Reserve to Nyika Plateau where you will be accommodated at Chelinda Lodge for the next two nights of your tour. Located high on the Nyika Plateau within Nyika National Park, Chelinda Lodge overlooks a crystal-clear dam with panoramic views of rolling hills, isolated ridges and open high-altitude with a rich experience of grasslands, leopards to orchids. There are four chalets which have two bedrooms, a bathroom, lounge, dining area with a fireplace and a small kitchen. There are also six en-suite rooms with twin beds, which share a dining, bar and lounge area complete with luxurious furnishings and an inviting fireplace for those cozy nights. Activities include day and night game drives, bush walks, mountain biking.

Day 5 – 7: Likoma Island

After breakfast departure by light aircraft to the stunning Island ok Likoma where you will spend the last days in complete relaxation. Kaya Mawa Lodge is at the head of a crescent-shaped bay on Likoma Island, surrounded by mango trees and ancient baobabs. The main camp is located in a rocky outcrop, consisting of a bar, dining room and rock pool. Kaya Mawa has a number of stone, thatched cottages and 2 family beach villas, with a luxurious & romantic villa on its own private island. Each room is individually designed in partnership with Katundu Textiles, a workshop set up on the island to empower single mothers. All the workforce come from the neighboring villages and have been trained on site. The result – a uniquely stunning lodge with a feeling of contemporary rustic whilst ultimately chic. Activities include sailing, quad biking, cultural tours to the local cathedral, alternatively, and a favorite amongst guests here, relaxing on your own deck over the lake.

After breakfast you will fly to Lilongwe International Airport for your flight back home.
