Day 1 – 2: Zambezi River

Scheduled road transfer from Victoria Falls Airport or Kasane Airport to Imbabala Zambezi Safari Lodge. This transfer will take approximately 45 minutes from Victoria Falls Airport or 30 minutes from Kasane Airport. Imbabala Zambezi Safari Lodge is situated on a riverine fringe of the mighty Zambezi River where Zimbabwe, Botswana, Zambia and Namibia converge. Located 80 kilometres west of Victoria Falls Imbabala offers the chance to unwind but also some of the most amazing game viewing and bird watching in the region, in the seclusion of a private National Parks concession. The 5,000 acre concession has 14 kilometres of private Zambezi river frontage and borders the Chobe Forest Reserve, which is renowned for its massive Elephant population. Herds of up to 1500 elephants have been seen on the floodplains below the Lodge! Imbabala Zambezi Safari Lodge offers exclusive accommodation for only 16 guests in 8 individual thatch lodges with en-suite facilities. Experienced guides are on hand for all activities. These centre around tracking game on morning, afternoon and night game drives in open 4×4 safari vehicles on the Imbabala Private Concession Area. Exploring the Zambezi River by boat affords guests an exclusive river experience. Bird-watching is exceptional, as birdlife is prolific and varied, ranging from water birds to shy forest dwellers. Walking Safaris and fishing excursions for the renowned Tiger Fish, are available by prior arrangement.

Day 3: Zambezi River canoeing

Early morning game drive before returning to Imbabala for brunch. You will be collected by Wild Horizons for their Upper Zambezi Canoeing Safari. After a game drive through the Zambezi National Park, guests arrive at their riverside camp. The guide will give a thorough briefing, which will cover conditions of the river and rapids, canoeing instruction, safety and general information. The afternoon is spent canoeing the Zambezi Rapids. Overnight camping on the banks of the Zambezi River (meals, limited drinks and camping equipment included).

Day 4: Zambezi River

A full English breakfast is served in the morning before an hour game drive upstream to the put‐in point. Today is spent canoeing (18kms), downstream, running small grade one and two rapids, exploring channels and game viewing. This day includes the Sansimba rapids. A picnic lunch is served on the mainland or an island. Overnight camping on the banks of the Zambezi River (meals, limited drinks and camping equipment included).

Day 5 – 6: Zambezi River – Victoria Falls

A delightful English breakfast is served after which you board the canoes and the day is spent canoeing another 18 kms downstream to the mighty Victoria Falls. Rapids canoed today include the Kandahar Rapids. The scenery, channels and the rapids on both respective days are very different. Cold minerals & beers are served at the end of the canoe safari.
You will then transfer the short distance back to Victoria Falls and arrive at The Elephant Camp in the late afternoon. This afternoon you will enjoy an elephant interaction with Wild Horizons.
The Elephant Camp is the latest luxury camp to open in Victoria Falls Zimbabwe. It lies within a private concession just outside of Victoria Falls and has a stunning vista over the African bushveld and views of the smoke of the Falls and the Zambezi river gorges. Accommodation at Elephant Camp is in huge Bedouin style tents. Each tent is gorge facing and has a lounge massive bathroom as well its own private plunge pool. Facilities in each tented suite include: private viewing deck and plunge pool; private lounge area; air-conditioning and fans. The Elephant Camp offers close interaction with wildlife, in particular elephant at the Wild Horizons Wildlife Sanctuary, all guests staying at The Elephant Camp will have an opportunity to meet the Wild Horizons elephants. Spend two nights at The Elephant Camp in twin tented suites on a full board basis including 2 transfers per day to the little resort town of Victoria Falls, meeting the Wild Horizons Elephants.

Day 7 – 8: Hwange National Park

Scheduled road transfer from The Elephant Camp to Hwange National Park. This transfer takes approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes. At Hwange Halfway House, you will be met by a representative from Somalisa Camp who will continue the transfer to the camp. Set in the heart of Hwange National Park, Somalisa Camp offers guests the perfect blend of old African charm and elegance. Tucked beneath an acacia island along the edge of an ancient seasonal flood plain, this camp has breathtaking views of the savannah plains of the famous Kennedy Vlei line.
Activities include guided walks led by passionate guides who will share their knowledge and love of the bush with you, game drives, bird watching, and evening spot lighting. The area provides guests with the opportunity to see a variety of plains game and predators including elephant, kudu, sable, the rare and endangered roan antelope, buffalo, white rhino, lion, leopard, and hyena amongst other wildlife species.

Day 9: Departure
